Essentials

Travelling with children

Türkiye is generally welcoming to families, with flexible restaurants and plenty of outdoor space.

01

Transport

Use child seats in cars and taxis where possible. Airports and metro systems are stroller-friendly; historic streets may not be.

02

Food

Plain kebabs, pide, rice, soup, fruit and yogurt are easy for children. Ask for “az acı” (mild) if you want less spice.

03

Sights

Plan shorter museum visits, add beach or park time, and carry water and snacks. Ferries and cable cars are usually a hit.

04

Health

Pharmacies are widespread; carry familiar medicines, sun protection and rehydration sachets.
