Find a guide you can trust
A good guide explains what you are looking at and helps you use your time well. Tourist guides in Türkiye are licensed, and the licence is easy to check.
Check the licence before you book
Ask for the guide’s full name and licence number. Then check the TUREB guide database or the RBS document verification page. A legitimate guide will not mind the question.
Book through a licensed agency
Agencies can arrange a guide, car, driver and tickets in one booking. Get the itinerary, inclusions, cancellation terms and total price in writing before you pay.
Guide capacity by language
TUREB publishes licence numbers by language. A guide may speak several languages, so these are language licences, not a count of individual people.

Red flags worth taking seriously
No licence number, cash only, a “special” carpet or jewellery stop you did not ask for, a itinerary that changes after you pay, or a guide who wants your passport. Walk away and book through a licensed agency.
