Sur is a municipality and district of Diyarbakır Province, Turkey. Its area is 1,227 km2, and its population is 100,613 (2022). It covers the eastern part of the city of Diyarbakır and the adjacent countryside. The historical Diyarbakır Fortress lies in this district, which takes its name from the castle walls (Turkish: sur).
