Kuşadası
Kuşadası is a cruise port and beach town with easy access to Ephesus. It is not the prettiest place on the coast, but it is practical: ferries to Samos, a marina, long beaches and a short drive to Selçuk. Use it as a base, not necessarily as the whole holiday.
Best time to visit: April to June and September to October.
Aydın
Aydın is an Aegean province of figs, olives and ancient cities. Aphrodisias, Didyma and Miletus sit within its borders, while Kuşadası and the Dilek peninsula provide a coastal counterpoint to the inland valleys.
